Kaycel (Sevelamer carbonate) is a phosphate binder that lowers the phosphorus concentration in the serum by binding phosphate in the gastrointestinal tract and decreasing absorption.
Kaycel (Sevelamer carbonate) is indicated for the control of hyperphosphataemia in adult patients receiving haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis and for patients with chonic kidney disease (CKD) not on dialysis with serum phosphorus >1.78 mmol/l.
