Treatment for chronic hyperuricemia conditions where urate deposition has already occurred (including a history or presence of tophus and/or gouty arthritis)

Recommended Starting Dose:

40mg once daily. The dosage may be increased to 80mg in patients who do not acheive a serum uric acid (sUA) of <6mL after 2 weeks of therapy with Febuxostat 40mg

Usual Adult Dose:

40-80mg  once daily or as prescribed by the physician. May be taken without regard to food or antacid use.
